So here is my question. How does one sue a company if it is in, say, Iran, or Russa, or China? Are their internet laws the same as ours? Do we even have laws against this type of happening? Are there common international laws? Perhaps there should be.
Here is the blog post by Microsoft:

That is a good question, about litigation. There would have to be international cooperation to get to these people. Or did Microsoft just pick US companies to sue? I heard that technology was used by 9/11 terrorists to disseminate information, through jpeg files.
ReplyDeleteMicrosoft did pick US companies. However, it is difficult to know if they are just shells or not. And who knows where the owners of the companies actually live. But this could be the tip of the iceberg for sure, and international efforts are definitely needed.
